The drinking culture in London is so advanced that there a lot for everyone. No matter how much there is, try to find a space in a pub on Friday at 6pm and you'll see what impossible means.
London made me addicted to apple cider and stout beer and I am bound to crave it forever now.
Here is a list of the best places to have a drink in London:
Pubs
The Harp, Leicester Square
Hidden away in a street behind the theaters of Soho, this place is full with old men and this is how you know it's good. The menu changes constantly with beer and cider from small independent breweries.
Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, Bleeker Street
Oldest pub in London on an iconic street. Hence the weird name. The building is one of its own, with many rooms inside, carrying the vibe of old times. Get a pint in the big room with the high ceilings and sit on one of the wooden benches.
The Dove, Hammersmith
Built on the place of a public house, this bar holds the Guinness record for smallest bar room. But the famous past doesn't stop here. Its in this pub that the renown English poet James Thompson used to bring his mistress. Grab a pint and sit on one of the tables looking at the river. They have some quality food too!
Bars
Joe's, Chalk Farm
This is where all the fun in London happens. I have had some of my best nights in here. As if it can't get better, I once saw John Snow and Theon Greyjoy shaking their booties here. A DJ every night and awesome retro tunes from the 20's and 30's. The party goes on until 3 in the morning and the dancing never stops.
The Alchemist, Liverpool Street
Looking for quirky cocktails that looks like chemistry experiment? The Alchemist is your place. Sit at the bar and look at the barman doing its magic.
Gordons, Temple
You will be lucky to find seats in this iconic wine bar. Go inside and order a glass or 10 of special wine and peak in the dark cellar only lit by candles. Open until 10.
Mr. Fogg's Tavern
A fancy little place for gin lovers. You are welcomed by a scary security guard asking for your reservation. Better make one! Once you go through that you will find a vintage room with low seats and couches, serving glassfuls of G&T.

Cahoots
Situated in an abandoned tube station, once you get inside you are transformed into the swing era of London. Waitresses with polka dot dresses, smell of cinema popcorn and funky cocktails. You can also sit in the tube. Wow! It doesn't get more retro than that.
Craft Brewery, East London
Brewery with great pizza and great beer by the canal. Say no more.
Aint' Nothin' But Blues Bar
My favourite place with quality live music. They have shows every day. Come early to get a seat near the stage and watch the passionate musicians play. Then get up and shake that body!
The Queen's Head, Angel
I have been to many comedy clubs in London, but Barry's show beats them all. I am not saying this only because it's free. It's free to enter, but you have to pay to come out. Lol just kidding, I stole that joke from them.
Bill Murray, Angel
This is Barry's own comedy club. A little bar to grab a drink for the show and jokes all around, this is a perfect little place to hear some quality humour. Avoid sitting on the front row unless you want to become the subject of those jokes.
